You're not alone! ~4,500 people are taking the test every hour since launch (Apr 14, 2017)
Your post appeared on all of these pages: #hayvidamásalládelceuperoyoyanolaveo
Why do you check both the account and the last post?
The Shadowban doesn't apply at the account level, it applies to some posts.
Are these results accurate?
We track a combination of signals and are 100% confident in the results. Be sure to check multiple posts (ideally before they get hundreds of comments).
I keep seeing "Can't tell from this post"...
The most reliable way to determine if there's a ring fence around your account is via hashtags, if you're not using them the results are inconclusive.
A post on Facebook says moving hashtags from the comments to the caption removed the ban, is this right?
No one knows how the internal algorithm works (other than Instagram). Yes, it removed the ban on that post but there is no workaround for the general case. There is no "trick" to avoiding the ban or cheating this test.
Is it really fair to call this a ban? Seems harsh... aren't you Canadian?? Couldn't it simply be buggy platform replication issues relating to hashtag searches?
Sure, it could be that simple... but it's certainly evidence of the primary (organic) discovery mechanism not getting any engineering love.
Dozens of users on reddit and PetaPixel are reporting the test is a hoax, what gives?
It's no hoax — it simply looks at the "instapp:hashtags" and "video:tag" meta tags. When these are missing, the photo is stripped of its tags when viewed through the API. We believe this is a big part of the issue impacting hashtag searches, you're free to draw your own conclusions.
